Art

welcome

Some of what I make is free, some of it you can buy, but profit is not the goal – which is why this is not set up as a shop.

it also doesn’t have a structure, a schedule or any other kind of logic so just have a look around, share your thoughts with me, and if you’d like to own something that I’ve made, ask: if I still have it, I’ll send it to you

Sea Glass Magnets

These hold a special place in my heart. They were so fun to make, so easy, and turned out exactly as I wanted them to look like.

They are tiny canvas magnets and I drew a few different versions of plants in tiny sea glass or seashell pots.

Meow

Half way through painting this cat I sent a picture of it to the groupchat and one of my friend immediately claimed it. The speech bubble was her idea and I loved it.

It not lives in her living room (I think? She just moved houses so now I don’t know where she’s put it!).

Electric Lines

Another one that was quite quickly claimed and now lives in someone’s living room.

I loved painting it and it came out exactly as I wanted it to look like – which I know, it’s how all this is supposed to work but the truth is, between the vision and what the hand delivers there’s all too often a liminal space.

Poppies

To this day, 7 years after painting these poppies, I still wish they’d all gone together to the same house, but they didn’t.

They were separated but I hope they are all happy in their new homes.

Foxes

For Christmas I always make only one kind of decoration: little animals in nutshells.

The nutshells are real, cleaned and varnished, the moss is artificial and these foxes were made by me with air-dry clay. I also make bunnies and hamsters, and this year I’ll attempt owls I think!

Yellow Flowers

Spanish sea glass and shells on black paper, framed.

Sometimes the simplest things are the absolute best.

(this is also sold, but I will definitely make more)

Digital Portraits

For a while, a couple years ago, all I was doing were digital portraits.

These were only made on commission but I had to accept at some point was that I couldn’t pay myself enough to make them viable.

Family Portraits

We never take family pictures anymore. A couple generations ago (from mine), the big family portrait would be sometimes the only picture they’d take in their life, and while now we snap 100 selfies per day we don’t have a single picture with our entire family in it.

I created a few of these family portraits by combining several reference pictures people would send me. These are so close to my heart, I’m genuinely sad I can’t make them anymore, but I just don’t have the time.

Gemini

This was created as a present for a friend, but the plan is to make one for each zodiac sign.

This is what I’m mainly working on right now. They’ll be printed as birthday cards and also on tops.

Top

Something I realised very recently is that making my own digital art means I can also make my own clothes!

The times of bland, mass produced tops with nonsensical texts and random numbers on them are all over for me. And for you too if you want!
