I am an artist, and yet a struggle with this word so much. It makes me feel like I’m lying, makes me feel like a fraud.

I compare myself to other artists and think “who am I kidding, how can I call myself an artist when there’s people who can do *this*?”

Truth is, though, that all humans are artists. Art is part of who we are.

Making art comes natural to a human being the same way breathing, walking and eating does. And so do dancing, and singing.

But we’ve turned these things from something that we simply are into something you need to be good at, excel, be extraordinary, or you’re not entitled to call yourself an artist, a dancer, a singer.
